Zackary nn Zack? Zachary nn Zach or Zac? vs. Too close to Isaac?
Hi, my hubby and I really want to name our son Zack. We thought we could use it as a nickname for Zackary, but when we told people we got a really negative response saying that it should be spelled Zachary with the nickname either Zach or Zac. Trouble is we don’t like these spellings yet we don’t want our son having to correct everyone on the spelling of his name all the time. What do you think? Also do you think that Zack/Zach/Zac is too close to big brothers name Isaac which we pronounce I-Zuc not I-Zak? Older siblings are Jamie and Isaac- 8 and Hadley- 4. Zackary nn zack but it might b a bit close to Isaac(I pronounce it i-zik)... I think zuk/zik and zack might be ok.. or make it a middle name

Zackary is just fine. Zack and Isaac have some simular sounds but I don’t find them too close. as for the name Zackary vs Zachary....my brother is named Zackary. No one will care either way after he is born.

Zachary nn Zack. Nicknames do not always have to follow the spelling of the formal names exactly. Zack is the traditional nickname for Zachary, so it’s not like you’d be going out of the box on that one.
