Niel (short for Daniel) vs. Nilo (short for Danilo)

My husband and I are expecting our second child which is another son. Our first son is named Liam. I love the name, I think it’s beautiful so I wanted to do something similar. Liam is short for William so we were thinking that Niel could be short for Daniel but we aren’t sure yet. And since we’re both latino, I’m from Venezuela and my husband is from Brazil we thought of shortening the latin form of daniel, danilo to nilo. Do you like the idea? What about Guel short for Miguel? My husband and I aren’t Latino or Hispanic but if I had married one I would have named my boys Miguel & Diego, I LOVE those names!

You could use a name with the nn from the beginning like Cris. I like Nicolas nn Nico!
