Essie could be a nickname for Esme or Ez-May.
Ettie could be a nickname for Henrietta.
Congratulations.

My mother named me a nickname, and I ended up changing it to a completely different name years later. She asked me one time if she would have named me Elizabeth if I would have kept the name. I absolutely would have because Elizabeth has so many nicknames. That all being said, if your poll said Neither, I would have chose that.

Sorry, but I don’t like nicknames as full names.

i like both, but i think Essie sounds better with your older ones, seeing as you already have Bertie ending in tie.

Good on you for being brave enough not to use a nickname as a middle name - it always weirds me out when someone names a child one thing, but always intends to call them something else!
My vote went to Ettie for two reasons; firstly Essie sounds like it’s missing a letter and should be Bessie or Tessie etc
Secondly, your first daughter has the soft sounding "L" in her name, so it would be nice for your second daughter to have the harder sounding "T" rather than a soft "S" so that their names aren’t too similar
