Posey vs. Posy vs. Posie

If I were to go with this name for my little girl, how would you spell it? Any other ways to spell it, or is there a "proper" way? I’ve seen it all three ways, used interchangeably.

If it’s after the flower then the first spelling is correct. If you mean as in "posing", then the second.

No, it would be after the flower. Her big sister is Willow and I’m trying to find something to complement that. I am not wedded to Posey/y/ie, just thinking about it.

If I have a boy, not sure what to choose. I have a common last name that is also a first name. I’d like to try and find something at least some what unique (but not a made up or odd name) so that s/he won’t be one of thousands in this country with the same name.

POSY
GENDER: Feminine
USAGE: English
PRONOUNCED: PO-zee
Meaning & History: Diminutive of JOSEPHINE. It can also be inspired by the English word posy for a bunch of flowers.

See! That’s where it is confusing. Posey and Posy both seem to be the flowers, argh....
