Is Elizabeth too vs. close to Elijah vs. for sibling name?

I have an Elijah, and kinda wishing now that I’d used a different name for him, cause I’m really starting to like Elizabeth for a girl! Are they too close to comfort for siblings? I don’t want to cause any problems, especially for him in the future with teasing and things of that sort. Especially since the girl name Eliza is almost identical to Elijah! Am I just being paranoid, or will it matter? I do have other names that I like for a girl, but like I said, am really starting to like Elizabeth, and wanted some opinions. THX.

I wouldn’t use them for sibling first names, but I don’t think there’s any problem with using Elizabeth as a middle name if you love it!

I don’t think they’re too close.. Eliza and Elijah would be, but Elizabeth and Elijah sound different enough to me.

WAY TOO CLOSE--- do you know why you like it so much (long name, old, classic, starts with "E", etc.)? If you know WHY, we can come up with some alternatives!!!

I don’t think they’re too close, especially if you’re using nicknames for them. For example, Eli and Libby aren’t close at all.

There are also a ton of Elizabeth variations - Elisa, Elise, Elsa, Isabelle, Isabeau, Iseline, Liese, Liesl, Lilian, Talisa, Ysaline

Also, if you love the name Eliza, the name Aliza (different meaning and a little different pronunciation) is an option.

GL!

Not so much the starts with E part, but the first 3 reasons, maybe. Also, its biblical, and that is a big bonus, too. Sigh.

There are a lot of beautiful biblical names, Miriam, Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Noah (yes it was a female), Zipporah & Delilah (last 2 are my faves). Magdalena is from Magdalen. I’d use Elizabeth as mn, way too close with Elijah. Plus i know you really like Elizabeth but dont feel you shouldve picked something else for your boy, Elijah is absolutely GORGEOUS.

Since you like the classic older names here are just a couple of suggestions, maybe it will give you ideas.

Lilith Elizabeth
Cassandra Elizabeth
Lysandra Elizabeth
Florence Elizabeth
Victoria Elizabeth
Georgiana Elizabeth
Alessandra Elizabeth
Seraphina Elizabeth
Rosalind Elizabeth
Margaret Elizabeth

I don’t think they’re too close. At all. Elizabeth is just so classic. I like it as the full name, but if I were to use a nickname, I’d probably go for Liz/Lib
