EJ, Lee, Jay? Any nickname besides Eli will be considered a strech by normal people.
I personally think nicknames don’t have to make sense, they’re just a pet name for someone you care about.

Elijah Jesse (or any J middle name) and call him EJ.

I also thought of using his initials as a nickname, but usually only works with a J middle name.
Thing is- Elijah doesn’t flow with J middle names! The J is much too close to the middle name, it sounds bad. EJ could be taken from the name itself.

My husband had an uncle by marriage whose real name was Elijah. They all called him Uncle Loshi

no nn’s, don’t ruin such pretty names. Give them a great name, then call them the great name. Lige, Eli, Uncle Loshi, whatever, will never be as good as Elijah.
