Drey as nickname for vs. Audrey vs. (see explanation)

My husband and I are going to name our daughter Audrey. We already have one daugther, Lauren. Her nickname is Ren. My husband and I call her by both Lauren and Ren, and some family members also call her Ren sometimes. That’s it though... We don’t go around telling people her name is Ren. I really like nicknames. If that’s not your thing, you can just pass right on to another poll. My name is Caroline and all my life I’ve been called both Caroline and Carlee. We thought that Drey (rhymes with Bree/Brie) might be a cute nickname. My husband sort of thinks it should be pronounced like it rhymes with Grey instead... I don’t really like that idea because then it doesn’t really relate back to Audrey. Do you think we should keep it spelled Drey or spell it differently? I appreciate your thoughts and ideas. Thanks. (No, we are not interested in the name Aubrey.)

Audrey nn Dree would be a better option. GL.

If just you and maybe a couple family members only call her Drey some of the time, does it really matter how it’s spelled? I mean, it’s a really cute idea, but you’re probably never going to write it down. :)

I think Dree would be better spelling for that pronunciation! Gl I think it’s a really cute nn btw

Do you like Andrea, nn Drea? I know many boyish girls with the name Audrey.

I like Andrea. My husband doesn’t. I think of Audrey as being pretty feminine because it reminds me of Audrey Hepburn. Thanks for the Dree idea; we’ll be considering it.

Well, when I first looked at Drey, I did think it was pronounced Dray.

I'm Audrey too and I think I'd like nn Drey. I get that it sounds masculine but I'm not a girly girl so yeah I'm rooting for Drey but Dree isn't too bad too.
