I much prefer surnames as first names when they are family names. For instance, if a grandmother’s maiden name was Reid, it would be an awesome first name. Otherwise, I find surnames as first names to be sort of off putting.

I think it is very handsome, classic, but yet able to contend with the trendy names of today! I prefer this spelling best!

I don’t like or dislike it. It sounds like someone that will be intelligent, and it’s certainly not a common name so you won’t have a popularity problem if that was a concern.

I don’t love it, though I don’t hate it. I definitely like that you spell it Reid rather than Reed - that just makes me think of some reedy and weedy!
