Alasdair/ Alistair/ Alastor etc vs. Nice vs. Not Nice

Hi there :) We’re expecting a boy soon and I was toying with the idea of naming him after my late Grandfather. He went be his middle name, Alistair, although I’m not sure how he spelled it. How do you feel about the name? Is it too old fashioned and geeky, If not how would you spell it? Thanks for your time- Karen x

Great name. I love it. Can you find his death or birth certificate, or maybe old census records (depending on when he was born), to find out how he spelled it?
