its different and unique alright but this is just bad, I dont think she’d like it much later on in her teens.... if your baby is Japanese or asain of some sort I guess it could work but still not feeling it. Sorry.

If you came up with it, it’s not a name.

There are plenty of different & unique names that are simply underused names that people already know. My daughter’s name is Marina - different & unique because she has never met another one, but people still know how to spell it! If you name her Aiyuri, she will forever be correcting people.

Well, I did come up with it but there is no rule saying ’If you create a name that you think is cute, then its not a name’. I simply took the name Yuri and added another sound to it. Also, people don’t have to have heard of it being name in order for it to be a name. I have heard crazy things used for names before. I mean some people name their children days of the week, their not names. Explain to me, what makes it not a name, just because I came up with it?

It’s not that different from Yuri, so it definitely works.
Also, ’you came up with, it’s not a name’ people- where the hell do you think names came from? Fell from the sky? Someone made THEM up!
And it’s much better than Nevaeh and company...

Sounds like a Japanese name to me. I have no problem with made up names, but unless your of Asian descent I wouldn’t use it.

Now that you mention it, it does sound a little Japanese to me but I believe that the origin of the name does not matter. I kind of think of that as saying that name will not work good for your child because she is not a certain nationality or thats just like saying an african amerian child can’t have the name Matthew because he is not white...I hope you don’t find this to be offensive. We all have our perspectives on certain things, so thats just how i look at it. I know you mean well by expressing what you think, but thank you so much.

Omg, so funny I made this name up too, that’s what brought me here. I’m sure you had your baby by now, but I hope you gave her this name. It’s a beautiful name! I will definitely be naming my baby girl this and my name plan is Aiyuri Isabel!
