I had an uncle lewis-nn lew but from a young age I called him uncle bleu he brought me up and I found out I was pregnate on the day of his funeral just seemes righht but don’t want my child to have a name that no one likes X

I think it would make an adorable mn. If you have a girl Louisa Bleu or Eloise Bleu would be a sweet way of honoring him.

Bleu is a French word and said more like "bluh". If you want the pronunciation "bloo" then spell it blue. But honestly, I can’t picture this aging well. It could make a cute middle name though because it has special meaning to it. That’s what middle names are for-to honour someone whose name won’t do the child justice as a first name.

I agree that for the right pronunciation you really should have Blue rather than Bleu. As the French say ’bluh’. Then if you give the name Blue to a girl people will think your trying to be funny seeing as the stereotypical colour for girls is pink. Just saying mind you because i actually think it could be ok :) Hyphenate it with another name maybe

If you find a 1st name you like starting with B & have mn Louise/Louisa then you can use nn B-Lou or Blou...

I think it is cute for a girl as a middle name, especially as it has a special meaning. However Bleu is pronounced differently to the English Blue. Bleu or Blue would be so sweet for a middle name for a little girl. I LOVE someone’s suggestion of Eloise Bleu:) Eloise Blue would be pretty as well.

I could imagine Blue as a middle name for a boy to but I think the French version Bleu sounds more girly.

Its such a lovely idea to honour your Uncle, good luck

My name isn’t actually Bleu, i don’t exactly like my name but it’s unique. Also it can be for a boy or girl, it’s a unisex name.And for all you guys saying you wouldn’t call your kid Bleu, that’s just cold but it’s your opinion, i wouldn’t personally call my kid "Bleu" but it’s a pretty name if you ask me. And my name is pronounced Blue.
