Emmeline vs. Emma-line? or vs. emma-leen?

How would you pronounce Emmeline just by first glance? I want it to be pronounced emma-leen, but I don’t like the spelling Emmeleen/Emmaleen. And I’m undecided about Emmelene. We’d probably call her Emmy.

I too love that name and it is on our list. But we like it pronounced Emma LINE. I think maybe Emmeline. But I’m sure you will have to correct people at some point.

I love Emmeline. I would pronounce it Emma-leen but only because that’s how I prefer it pronounced.

What about the spelling

Emmalene
or
Emmilene

These look a bit better than the -leen ending and makes it more obvious that it is pronounced Emma-leen.

Emma-leen is the original pronunciation (French and British). I think most people in North America would pronounce it with the "line" sound. I prefer the original as I think it’s prettier. GL.
