Leo vs. Theo
I really like the both Leo and Theo. I would definitely only want to choose one. Here are my questions: 1) Which would you prefer? 2) Do you know of any longer version of these names besides the typical Leonardo and Theodore? I really like these names but I don’t know if I should give my son a longer name and use one of these primarily as a nickname. Could you imagine an adult just going by Theo or Leo?
Thanks!
The Top Baby Name is...

Apparently there’s an Old German name Theo comes from, "Theobald"... personally I’d stick with Theodore.
Leo can be short for:
Leon
Leopold
Leonard
Leonidas
I think Leo stands on its own better than Theo. I love Theo as a nickname for Theodore.

I agree with poster 2, Leo stands better on its own than Theo. If you use Theo, I’d go with Theodore.

You could perhaps use Mattheo.

Thanks! I do think Leo stands on its own better than Theo. I like the suggestion of Mattheo and maybe using Theo is a nickname. The baby will be 1/4 Spanish so Mattheo could be a nice tribute to that. If we use Leo, we\’d probably have it stand alone but Leonard was my grandpa\’s name. A lot to think about. Thanks again!

I really like both, but voted for Theo due to it’s being that bit more unusual. Personally I think both could stand alone.
