I don’t know about the initials. But Maximus is kind of weird to me. I always associate Maximus with Gluteus Maximus. It always seems to be the guys who love this name. I don’t get it...

Teased how?

How would he be teased if he goes by Max in school and Maximus at home?

I love Maximus. It’s one of my favorite Max and -us ending names. I don’t see how he would get teased at all. I know two toddler aged Maximus’ and I think their parents chose brilliantly.

I wouldn’t care about the initials. I mean, unless they spell out something obscene or embarrassing, who cares? No one really sees them. Is Alexander set? You could do Maximus Xavier N (Zay-Vee-er or X-zay-vee-er, but I prefer the former).

Poster 5, thank you! Thats reassuring, I don’t even think about gluteus maximus when I hear this name, I think Gladiator which is a favorite movie of ours anyways, seeing as we like the roman/greek era type movies. Maximillian just seems too long for any child to learn to spell and Maxwell well Jessica Simpson just ruined that for me, plus I think of that Woman’s Work song :/

I don’t think he will be teased at all, and although Maximus isn’t one of my favorite names, Max is. I think Maximillian or just Max would be a better name, but if your husband prefers Maximus I think Maximus is best.

My 6 week old is named Maximus Alexander and we get nothing but compliments on it :) We did name him after the Gladiator :)

As for the Gluteus Maximus thing, you are aware that Maximus means Greatest, right? and its referring to the greatest (biggest) glute muscle. There’s also a Glutest Medius and Minimus. Even if someone tries to tease, they’re just uneducated.

Go for it. :D

Lol, Glutest = Gluteus typo.

Kara, Thank you thats so comforting to hear/read. Somedays I love the name others I don’t. Maybe I’m just overthinking it, I’ll wait in a couple weeks when he’s here.

My son's name is Maximus Alexander.. we call him Max for short and we only received complements about his name. Some people even said that's a very good name when for hires. And yes, Maximus Alexander is a very strong name and means the Greatest! Our last name starts with K so his initials are MAK.
