Feminine vs. form of vs. Derek?
I want to honor my late brother, Derek, in my daughters name. I am getting my tubes tied after she is born, so I need to honor Derek in her name. What would be the feminine form of Derek? Is Derika (like Erika with a D) too weird? More suggestions? Thanks loves! -Rebecca & baby girl

So sorry for your loss.
I would do just Ereka, but Dereka is ok. As long as she knows who she’s named after and you like it that’s all that matters.
Another suggestion is using Dereka or Ereka as a middle name.
You could also do Kereda (Derek backwards with an a on the end) and call her Kere (pronounced like Kara/Cara)
I personally would do Kereda and then give her a very feminine middle name.

This may be odd, but why not make her middle name just, "Derek" ?

Kereda pronounced ker-aye-dah is kind of cool. I dont want Derek. Its too masculine. I was thinking maybe a D first name with Ereka/Erika for a middle name. What do you guys think?

Dereka for a middle name seems fine.

That would probably be best. Or, make her fn start with a D for Derek, and then have her mn start with whatever letter his did.

Derek means people’s ruler. Derica = Feminine form of Derek but Im not sure I like it... Ereka/Erica is nice.
Derine/Derin= Modern feminine form of Derek.

His middle name is Adam. The feminine would be Ada, Adalie, Adalyn, or something like that? So maybe Dereka Adalyn?

Dereka
Derica
Dericka
Derrica
all variations of the feminine form of Derek and if you don’t like it, they could be middle names?
These actually come from Derek, unlike Ereka, which comes from Eric

I'm curious as to what you decided. I recently lost my brother, named Derick, and am currently pregnant. I'm not sure about gender yet but want to honor him in the name.
