Miffy vs. Weird vs. Ok
My friend is thinking of calling her baby girl Miffy. I think its a terrible name and the child will get teased. What do you think? Should I tell her or just let her do what she wants?

At best, it’s a nn.....but tell her you’ve been reading some stuff about naming children and that you should name the adult, not the baby, because they aren’t babies for long......and that you should think about what their name would look like on a business card when they are grown and are a lawyer! Although, a child called Miffy all her life might never believe in herself enough to become a lawyer!!!

Tell her straight up that its a really bad name. Ask her how she would feel if her name own name was Miffy. Maybe she can find a name where she can call her miffy as a nickname. I cant think of any right now. Maybe like Mallory as the first name and Ife as the middle name or something.

Ignore the naysayers, and do not advise against Miffy as 1) it is none of your business, one person’s opinion should not determine what new parents will name their beloved child, if they love the name Miffy it’s their right to name their child that without petty judgements from others, and 2) there is absolutely nothing wrong with the name! Miffy is a beautiful, unique name which will absolutely not cause bullying (unless its from people who take their time out to bash a name online)
