Middle Names vs. For Stellan!

Hi, my husband and I are expecting a little boy this August, and we’re working on a name for him. We’re going with Stellan for the first name. My husband thinks it sound very ’manly’ and we both like the Danish actor Stellan Skarsgard. We’re having trouble with his middle name, though. We created a list of names we’re thinking of, but we aren’t really in love with any of them. It would be great if you could suggest names that would go well with Stellan. Thanks- the Curry family

Don’t use Joseph, Stellan Joseph is too close to Joseph Stalin!

I’d suggest Grantham with Stellan.

I think Stellan is nice but I think Stefan ( Stef-awn)or Stefen (Stef-n) would be great as well! If you are final on Stellan, I would suggest Joshua, Zane, Joseph, Carter, David, Dean,Matthew, James, Charles, Brady, Anthony,or Quincey :)

I like Stellan. There are plenty of Stefans out there. I would pick something simple...maybe one syllable, just to bridge first and last. My son is Stetson Kade. Didn’t want his name too complicated with an unusual first name. I think Cole and Dean were great suggestions. I also like Reece, Reid, Dane, Drew, Luke, and Gage. I think Graham off your list sounds really nice.

Stellan is a great, unique name and I agree it sounds very strong. I also think a one syllable mn sounds best, such as
Stellan James
Stellan Knox
Or to go with the Danish theme:
Stellan Jens
Stellan Dane

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve always thought Stellan sounded a little girly. I guess with having the name Stella in the name and ending it would could possibly be a "lyn" spelling...it just has the potential to go unisex or sound somewhat girl-ish. That being said, I think it’s a very cute name.

We named our son Stellan Andersson, a strong traditional sounding name.
