Mary?? too old timey vs. Variations of Mary??

I love the name Mary! My husband on the other hates it because its too old timey. What do you guys think? If you vote too old timey can you suggest variations of Mary. Thanks Kate & Isaac

My aunt’s name is Mari. Most people call her Mary, but her name is actually pronounced Maaa dee (Spanish pronunciation).

Mary is my mom’s name. I love it. I don’t like when ppl change it up. Like Rosemary sounds like a spice. Keep with Mary.

I love Mary because it is the ultimate classic. It will never be out of style and it will always sound fresh.

But other options can be:
Miriam
Maria
Mariel
Marina

Mary is "classic" -- not "old timey." Mildred and Gladys are "old timey." Having said that -- I happen to like "old timey," so I don’t have a problem with Mildred or Gladys either. On the popularity chart, Mary is in the middle between Annabelle and Jade -- both current trendy names.

There are many pretty alternatives to Mary (Marie, Maria, Maura, etc.), but I still like Mary best.

Mary <- It’s the original, how can you hate that?!
Miriam <- my FAVOURITE variation
Mariska <- second fave variation
Marilla <- quite a pretty variation

I also really like Mara, Moira, Maureen, Marion, Maryse, Marja and Maryanne.That said the above 4 are definitely my FAVOURITE "Mary" names!!!
