Katherine Elizabeth vs. OR vs. Katie Beth

I just want to name her Katie Beth. Her father thinks she should be Katherine Elizabeth, nn Katie Beth. I think nicknames are pointless, and would rather just name her what we will call her. There are plenty of adult women who go by just Katie, so I think it ages fine. What do you think?

I think Katherine Elizabeth just sounds so much prettier than Katie Beth, which just doesn’t sound like a full name.

I agree with your point about nicknames - why call a child one thing if you’re just intending to call them something else. However in this case I’d make an exception, because I really don’t think that Katie Beth will age very well

By naming her Katherine Elizabeth, you would be giving your daughter more options. Someday, when she is looking for a job, Katherine Elizabeth will look a lot more professional on a resume than Katie Beth, you know what I mean?
