Jaemin vs. Daemin vs. Damon
Jaemin and Daemin are Korean names. My sons needs to be given a Korean name and an English name or a Korean name that will work in America. Which of the two names do you prefer? I suppose if we go with Daemin we could go with the English spelling of the name, Damon, although it is technically a differnt name, but may make things easier in America. Thoughts?
The Top Baby Name is...

Sorry for my typo, ’sons’ if that was confusing. It’s just one baby boy. Thanks.

don’t base the name you call your child on where you live. I have a 7 year old son called Beau and its a big name in Aussie but because I’m from Canada I didn’t want to call it him as Its not a name thats common their..
My kids are called Beau James. Bethnee Paige. Brinleigh Leah and I’m carrying one and hes being called Elliot.
base the name on what you like no where your from..
I like Jaemin!!

Jaemin might be a little feminine, especially if you were to use it in America. But if you are intent on using it, you could use Jayden or Jamie as its counterpart ?
And Daemin as both a Korean and American name is a wonderful idea. But if you think the spelling would be confusing, then perhaps Damon as an American name and Daemin for home.

To the second poster, this is exactly how I feel. I am worried Jaemin sounds too girly or too trendy or too much like a made-up version of the popular ’J’ names I see so often.
Last time I posted about Daemin, many people said it reminded them of demons and so I tried to rethink it. I really like the name Leo and some othe English names and I am about to just give him two differnt names: a Korean one in Korea and an American one in America, but I worry he will have two identites and that could create problems.

Name your baby a name of your heritage, don’t cater to the ignorant egocentric cultureless americans.

Thanks for the helpful feedback. Just in case it makes a difference, I am American and husband is Korean. The baby will inherit both cultures.
