I am in love with Gaelic spellings, but agree that in the U.S. especially, it doesn’t work out. I would spell it the Anglicized way Ailee or Aylee. GL
Also, way to be ignorant, poster 2, LOL

Ailey is the best anglicized spelling of Eilidh. There’s no use in any more complicated spellings if you don’t want the original.

I like the original better.
The other option I like is Aileigh, which maintains the classical look of Eilidh without the pronunciation difficulties..

Lots of Irish and Scottish names are spelled in a way that seems odd to those not familiar with the Gaelic language. That doesn't mean they have to be "Anglicised" as if that was a more superior way of writing it! Respect our culture please!

I am from Texas, and my husband is Scottish living in the US since age 29. We have a daughter with this name, and we spell it Eiligh. We wanted to keep the traditional spelling, but I (the Texan) was afraid nobody here (in Texas) would be able to pronounce it. So, we changed the one letter to at least help with the silent sound at the end of the name.
