Olive does sound older and less trendy. If you like vintage names, Olive seems like a better choice-- though you might run into trouble if she (like a lot of kids) doesn’t like to eat olives.

So I’d say Olivia, and you could use Olive as a nickname (or even Olive-Jo or Livvi-Jo). I love the middle name Josephine with both.
