I’ve met a few people with the name Tara and all of them have pronounced their name "TEAR-UH" so I’m listing it with that pronunciation. Which spelling do you think looks the best?

I can’t understand why anyone would want to name their child Terror. Where I am from, I have only ever heard it pronounced Tar-uh. I would go with the Tara spelling, because the others just say Terror to me.

My friend Tara pronounces her name like Terr-ah. As how they say the house in Gone With the Wind or the character in True Blood. Tara is either terr-ah or tar-rah. Both are correct.

are you naming her tah-ra or tear-uh. for most people Tara is tah-ra and Terra is tear-uh, Tera looks incomplete.

My name is Terra and I hate my name. I always have(which might not be that long since I'm only 14, but still). I would rather have been named Tara since it looks less ugly on paper, but I think it's too late to change my name by now...

My name is Tara I was named after the hill of Tara in County Meath Ireland. It's pronounced Tar-uh in Irish, my family is Irish and pronounces it like Tar-uh. If you pronounce it Terra then you are simply not pronouncing it the original Irish way.
