MY DAUGHTER vs. WANTS TO NAME HER DAUGHTER vs. BUTTERCUP !

Hi! I’m Celine. My daughter has loved the movie "The Princess Bride" for her whole life. The main character in the movie is named Buttercup and she would always say, "when I get pregnant, I’m going to name my daughter Buttercup" and I laughed thinking she was joking. Little did I know she wasn’t! Now that she’s pregnant she is actually going to name her daughter Buttercup! What should I do? I need major help!!!!!! Thanks! ~Celine

a. a hippie
b. a princess
c. in the 1900’s anymore

it isn’t the worst name in the world. I’d focus less on fighting with your daughter (if it seems a lost cause) and more on getting your grandchild a decent middle name, and then always call her that. Maybe your daughter will mellow out and drop Buttercup or move it to the middle name. My little sister used to want to use that name, too.
