Bane at least that’s how they spelled it in Harry Potter and that’s the only place I’ve ever seen this name.

1. Bayne
2. Bane
Its an interesting name which is really growing on me, i think Bayne like Wayne is probably the best option as Bane looks incomplete as a given name and Baine looks like Laine which is feminine

Bane is the currently popular character from Batman, and featured in the latest "Dark Knight" movie. That’s probably where she got the name from.

I prefer Baine. But they’re all fine. My question is, anyone who’s named their son Bane/Baine... How did it go? I really love the name but everyone I speak to doesn’t, or they ask me if I know he definition. Yes, I know the "bane of my existence". But that still doesn’t turn me off. I think it’s a really cool sounding name and I love it. Plus, it’s a family name on my husband’s side.

I had my son 06/08/2013 and named him Donovan Bayne. Family tradition for boys to be called by their middle name so we call him Bayne.

When looking for names I found a link to the name Bayne meaning long awaited child in Hawaiian. We lost 3 babies before him so it was a very fitting definition.

He is 3 now and I have had very little references to batman. I thought I would get that alot more. Zero people have referred to him or brought up "bane of my existence"

He gets nicknamed bayney or bayner. So far so good :)
