Bryce vs. Bruce

I was thinking of naming my son after my dad that recently passed away his name was Bruce. My dad passed away 2 months before my due date which is any day now. My friend just suggested that Bryce would be similar to Bruce and would sound better on a little boy. I really like the name Bryce but I am not sure if it would still honor my dad. Do you think Bryce would honor my dad Bruce? Do you think Bruce would be okay on a little boy? Also middle name suggestions for both names would be great thanks so much for your help.

Bruce is a little too hefty on a little boy. Bryce is softer. :)

I think Bryce would still honor your fathers name. And deep down you know you are naming him after your father so that is all taht matters and he would be so honored.

Altering names to honor someone while granting the child it’s own identity is the best way to do it. I have a plan to do this also - it allows the child to have it’s own name while also letting you be creative. Bryce is very lovely. Good luck

I named my son Bruce Hunter I love his name and it fits him well. Bryce to me just sounded too different. Best of luck
