middle names vs. which go vs. well with Dagny

Hi, Amelia here, again. So thanks to everyone who voted on my last poll. Although most people voted not to use Dagny as a name for my daughter, I love it too much not to use it. I was surprised that it was received more positively than I expected. Although it might seem unusual it is borrowed from the Ayn Rand book. I like the idea of Dagny Katherine but I’m not 100% sold yet. Does anyone have some more interesting suggestions?

Her last name will either be Holt or Doering, her father and I haven’t made a final decision yet.

I would for sure go with Doering as a last name. Dagny Katherine Doering sounds very cool and unique.

however, if you decide you want both Holt & Doering in her name here are the rules used to determine the last name:

Dagny Holt Doering - last name is Doering
Dagny Katherine Holt-Doering - last name is Holt

Although I’m not fond of Dagny (it just doesn’t sound remotely attractive), I do think Katherine is a good fit with it. With such a unique name like Dagny, a more common middle name like Katherine is ideal.

Dagny is growing on me...... I love unique names. Being a Deborah and one of the One Hundred Million "Debbie’s" I made sure I named my two boys names that were not popular at the time and were not eligible for nicknames. I have a friends named Delcie, Lorin and Deana (pronounced Dean ah) and envy them for their parents ability to name them something unique. My last name was Kierbow and my grandmother’s name was Era (she was born in 1900 - new era, get it?). So I wish my parents had named me Kiera - a combo of Era and our last name. But, I couldn’t talk then and had to depend on them to choose for me.... He He. I think Dagny is beautiful and unique. Adding Katherine just makes it more elegant. :)

I am also thinking of using Dagny as a baby name, I really like it paired with Katherine. I am thinking about using Jeane or Keelin as the middle name.
