Emmanuella vs. Ella as a nickname
I am unsure about the name Emmanuella for my daughter because although I love it, I see Ella as a nickname possibility and even though I like it, it just makes me think no one would use her full name except for me. Do you think Ella is inevitable? Thanks

I think Ella, Emma, Ellie, and/or Emmie, is probably inevitable because as pretty as Emmanuella is, it is super long.

I think if you like it, then name her that (: She may use her nickname often, but eventually she will have everyone calling her by her full name. And there are lots of other nicknames for Emmanuella! Emmy, Emma, Annie, Elle, Emma. It\’s not inevitable if you encourage the name (:

I wouldn’t go so far as to say inevitable, but pretty darn likely. What about shortening the name to Emmanuelle? It won’t contain "ella" and being a syllable shorter it might be less likely to get nicknamed
