WDYT of vs. Romeo & Juliet vs. for siblings?!
My husband and I met twelve years ago while auditioning for positions in a remake of Romeo and Juliet. Over a decade later, here we are expecting for the first time - twins! I already have my hands full enough just trying to find suitable names, being a first-time-mommy to doubles will definitely be a challenge!
I love the set "Romeo Reagan" and "Juliet Rose" for the twins - but is the combination strange as Romeo and Juliet were lovers? WDYT?
Surname is Rutherford. The twins are due in August. Thanks everyone! Regards,
Michelle and Lawrence R.

I’m sorry but I really don’t like that Idea at all!! Think about when they are teens, the remarks they’re going to get, how much they’re going to hate it. Romeo and Juliette are lovers, your babys ate just siblings. Maybe make those names their middle names?

I think she is choosing these names because of the experience with her spouse not because of the play so I think its cute! Although I see where commenter above is coming from

Wow, this was a far more negative reaction as expected! However, helpful! I do very much like Roman and Julia! Any other suggestions, please?

Roman and Julia is a much better combo as people who.know you and your husbands meeting story will gettthe reference, but it doesnt set your kids up for a horrible humiliating life

Choose something similar if you must but this is definitely not a good idea.

NO!!!!!!!!!!
If you choose similar names please only use them for middle names, otherwise I think they will be teased.

What about something Shakespearian for first names and Roman and Julia for middle names ?

I like them as names and it’s a beautiful story, but I think it’s too much to name your twins that. Middle names is a good idea! Or similar names.

I agree, I think Romeo and Juliet would be embarrassing for your children. I think Roman and Julia are still too close, kids will draw the parallel and there is still great teasing potential. Honestly, I would go back to the drawing board and find two names that you love and that sound good together.
Names you might like:
Sean and Sarai (pn Suh-rye)
Silas and Serephina
Paxton and Alicia
Rowan and Lilah
Lauren and Alex
Carson and Corinne
Brennan and Briella

I agree with the consensus here. Middle names would be cool though.

What about William (after William Shakespeare) and Verona (where the play is set)?
