Shane Daniele vs. Shawn Elena vs. Shea Hadlie

Before the comments start pouring in, my husband and I ARE completely aware that Shane, Shawn, and Shea (shay) are male names and we are having a GIRL. I have heard all of these names on girls before, so its not a bad decision. This is our 2nd child, our first is Shelby Rae (3). We love these 3 first names. Please keep the hate comments to yourselves please, but we are taking some suggestions but we want the SH at the beginning. Thanks -Shannon and Shemar

I love Shae. I’m expecting a girl and am considering the name Shailene (shay-leen). Maybe you’ll like it too. My second favorite is Shane.

I like Shea Hadley.

I love the name Shailene, but just my personal taste, I wouldn’t because I’m not much of a nickname person, and Shailene has a lot of opportunity for that, but i think its a beautiful name, so good luck and its a great choice! :) -Shannon

I knew a girl named Shayne (Shane) :)
Always thought it was cute!

It may sound weird but the anne in Shyanne is too close to my name (shannon) plus, Im not huge on the spelling of it. But thank you. -Shannon

Do you guys prefer the spelling Shane or Shayne? Lemme know ! -Shannon. & we are also taking middle names as well!

I prefer Shea/Shae Hadlie from your list

and I prefer Shayne spelling for a girl

I know one girl called Sian, I think that’s really nice. It’s pronounced like ’Sharn’ sort of but little emphasis ont he r, so you could spell it differently with an Sh at the front if you wanted? Just an idea

Shiloh and Shyla are the only other SH names I can think of.

Shane is my favorite and that spelling too.

That name really confuses me, so it may confuse others, but thank you for the suggestion :) -Shannon

We do like Shiloh but that is my nephews middle name, so we can’t use that. :/ And we aren’t a fan of Shyla, but thank you! Any good middle names for Shane? -Shannon

What about Shania, Shanna (shane-uh), or Shawna, much more suitable fore a girl
posted by guest :: 12 years ago | report
Shania will always make me think of the singer. I kind of like Shawna, but my husband doesn’t, we just prefer Shawn. But thank you :) -Shannon

Shay/Shea is lovely
Shayne is a more feminine way to spell it
Also really like Shyla, although I know you said you don’t like it

Shea is the most acceptable for a girl, I prefer Shea Danielle its pretty.

Shawn and Shane are both dreadful for a girl, sorry but they really ARE a bad idea. Plus my nephews name is Shayne its not a feminine spelling at all.

I like Shae and Shayne...both are cute. Somewhat masculine names on girls sound strong and have become quite popular in the Southern U.S. it sounds like you’re mixing it with more feminine middle names. Of the three you named, Shae is my fav.
