KATIE...are you 9 or 10 years old???

No. If you want to do a creative spelling, how about Kadie or Kady? Something that at least looks like a full name.

I like Katy.

Maybe Kay Dee.

Seriously? KD is not a name. It is two letters. Please just use Katie.

Katie. If you really want to write it KD, maybe have those be her initials. For example:

Keira Daisy Lastname
Kaya Darcy Lastname
Karis Daphne Lastname
Kali Darien Lastname
Kerensa Delilah Lastname etc.

What do you think?

My sister is named K.C. Renee. It does not stand for anything other than K.C.! My mother contimplated the spelling of Kacey, Kaci, Kacie, ect. for way too long. At the time she was living with her brother and his wife, as my dad way overseas in the Navy. My uncle got so sick and tired of my mom suggesting different spellings that he said why don’t you just name her K.C.!!! My mom liked it and so it is her name!

So I say if you like KD. Go with it! Short and sweet just like your daughter will be!~ K.C.’s sister!

Just because a mother was crazy enough to do that, doesn’t mean others should. How many times is she going to have to explain "No, that’s my name. It doesn’t stand for anything"? I don’t know why people have such an opposition with spelling names correctly. Think about your child who ultimately has to live with the name. Give her the choice to shorten it.

So it’s okay for a boy to go by or be given initials as a name but not a girl???
My mom was thinking outside the box! Whether or not the poster spells her daughter’s name KD, Katy, Cady, or Kay Dee. She will most likely have to correct people in this world! Have you dealt with the general public. There are people that are not so bright out there in the real world! Just stating a fact. My sister just has to say two letters when someone asks how to spell her name. If the other person asks, she just tells them that is it. Initial names don’t have to stand for anything if a person doesn’t want them too! I personally think K.C. and KD are beautiful names no matter how a person spells them!! Afterall, a name is said more often than it is written! (Unless you’re buying a house!)

If her name is to be pronounced Katie, then KT should be the initials, not KD. How about naming her Katherine Theresa, that way Katie is a nickname for Katherine and KT are her initials if you want her to spell it that way. Options would be great for her!

Actually, a name is written a lot if you actually get an education or have a job. And no, boys shouldn’t have initial names either. Initials are just that. They are supposed to stand for the person’s name. It’s ridiculous that people are even entertaining this idea.

My grandfather is named JB.....doesn’t stand for anything. My wife’s grandfather name is RL.....doesn’t stand for anything. We are planning to name our baby KD if it’s a girl. Her first name starts with a K and mine starts with a D. We plan to name her KD to honor our grandfathers legacy.

Name ur baby what ever you like, she is yours forever
