Keep Asha As First Name vs. Use Asha As Middle Name

My husband and I are adopting our sixth child, a little girl, from India. Her name is Asha and we cannot decide if we want to keep it or change it. We have gone through this with the adoption of each of our other children and have changed their names and used their old names as middle names due to difficult pronunciations. They (our other kids) are James Hakizimana and Mitchell Habimana (twins from Rwanda), Skyla Kunchanita (Thailand), Payson Viktoriya (Russia), and Michaela Alitash (Ethiopia). Thanks: K,M,J,M,S,P,M

I like Asha as a first name, but since the others have had theirs changed to middle names, I would do that to keep tradition and to keep the peace. You don’t want the other kids to say "why did Asha keep her name?" and you are like, "well, we liked it better than the names your families chose for you", y’know? Either way, good luck and thank you for adopting these children!

I think you should use it as a middle name since all the other kids original names are now their middle names:

Asha is a nice first name, but I suppose whether you change it will depend on how old she is. If she’s 12 months or older, keep Asha.

Hi! My name is actually Asha too, and I think you should keep Asha as her first name! A really nice middle name for Asha is Lily. I don’t have a middle name, and my friends are always like "your parents should’ve given you the middle name Lily!"
