Holloway vs. Thoughts?

Hi, im Carina and this is my third post for my baby boy! I really love the name Holloway for him, im not worried that its a surname its been pointed out many people have surnames for first names, but I am worried how its percieved! Please give me your opinion, im getting mixed reviews. If you dont like Holloway I have a list of names that I would like you to pick your favorite 4 and your least favorite 4, that would be a great help. Im still open to suggestion as well. I dont like Calloway. Thanks~ Carina

I don’t like Holloway sorry, I can still only think of it as a surname. But from your list I like Soren, Walter, Micah, Finnegan. Good Luck!

Holloway will always be related to the Natalee Holloway case, IMO. Roarke is nice

Im not so worried about the connection, what kids his age will ever make that connection when he’s older? People named Dahlia, Elizabeth, Jack, and Mason never have connection issues. Holloway I actually heard in a movie and I love it and see it as nothing but a scifi name. My personal favorites other than Holloway are
Alfred
Bruce
Wolfgang/Wolfe possibly Wolfsbane?
Ichabod
and Solace although I worry how "cool" they might not be considered. He will be raised in a big lively city, uncool is simply not an option to avoid teasing.

I didn’t even think about the Natalee Holloway case. For me the first association that pops in my head is the actor Josh Holloway who played Sawyer on Lost.
I like it as a first name!

I like Alfred and Bruce a lot on your short list.

The problem with scifi names is that your son will be living with a name that already puts him way out of the norm (like Wolfsbane). That’s not necessarily a bad thing, and they are cool names, but it may put him out in the open for teasing.

I’m not trying to sound harsh. I wish you the best of luck in finding a name for your little boy!
