Hey everyone I’ve recently heard the name arlia an loved it but have had trouble finding a spelling for it until now but I don’t want people to get confused coz its very similar to Aaliyah pronounced (ah-lee-a) but the my name arlia is pronounced (r-lia) so I guess what I’m asking is do you think people will mistake the name for Aaliyah? And do you think it’s a pretty name?

Only if they can’t read!! I think Aaliyah is uncommon enough that people wouldn’t even confuse the two!

Love it :) I don’t think that it sounds teen momish, and people definitely won’t confuse it with Aaliyah. I don’t get how people fully accept a name like Aaliyah, (now that REALLY looks like a teen mom name, it looks like a misspelled version of Alia.) and not Arlia. Anyway, if you are really worried about what people think, why don’t you use Aurelia? It’s Arlia with a little curve.

Hi My name is Arlia and i am 25 years old, i always get comments about my name and how nice it is, i have never had anyone confuse it for another name, i have had on many times people asking me to repeat my name and spell it. :)

It’s really pretty! If you get the name confused you clearly can’t read or write! Arli-a couldn’t be more obvious. I think people need to get out of old ways and accept that there are going to be new names added. Every name was made up at some point, why names wouldn’t expand and instead stay traditional is beyond me.

Obviously you don’t emphasis on the ’r’... just like any other word that has an r in it

Arlia is my daughters name. I went with that spelling for your exact reasoning. No one has a problem saying it, though no one can spell it haha. When I tell them though they all say oh that’s easy to spell. I I initially was unsure of it but she is 2 now and it suits her so well.

My name is Arlia too. My Dad combined Arlene with Lia. People always comment that it's a beautiful and unique name. Of course, some people are afraid to pronounce it at first because it doesn't look very familiar, but once they realize how easy it is, they usually like it.
