Benny vs. Bee vs. Bette
Which is the best nickname for Bernadette? I know this name is out there, and that’s why I want my daughter to have a more useable, cool nickname. Bernadette honors both of my great-grandmothers(Bertha and Annette), as well as my husband’s grandfather(Bernard). And Bernadette means brave as a bear! Thank you all. Tamsin and Clark

I used to babysit a little girl named Bernadette who went by Etta, sometimes, Ettie, and I always thought it was so sweet. I’ve also heard Bernie and Barry as nicknames. I like Bee from your list!

Etta is super cute. I also like Bee. Addie seems a stretch to me and is too common these days anyway, I think.

My grandmother Bernadette went by Ernie for all of her adult years, and when she was younger she went by Bee-Louise, which was her mn and flowed right off the tongue. Off your list I like Bette it has an intriguing quality. I do think Addie is a bit of a stretch giving your daughter such a classic name with such a trendy nn is kinda defeating the purpose.
