Double Name vs. Middle Name vs. Anna Claire

Hello! We are naming our baby Anna Claire, as a double name. We are set on having it as a double name, not as a first name/middle name. Should we also include a middle name, or would that be overkill? Thanks!

I personally would give a middle name too. But it ultimately is up to you. Do you think Anna Claire is sufficient? Would a middle name make it more complete sounding to you? Are you completely satisfied with Anna Claire?

Also if your last name is more than two syllables, a middle name might be overkill, but if your last name is one syllable, Anna Claire _____ kind of sounds incomplete. Good luck!

I think a middle name would be nice. A pretty 2+ syllable name, and I think she will prefer to have one. My daughter is Emma-Louise Adelie, because we wanted her to be Emma-Louise, and not Emma. But, if you still think "Overkill" You can always use Claire as her ’official’ middle name and she can go by Anna Claire. My sister is Marie Clare (Clare is her middle name) , and she’s always gone by Marie Clare :) Or me, I’m Georgia Belle, always have been, always will be:)

I would hyphenate Anna-Claire so people understand it is the first name, then give her a middle name as well. I think that will be the least confusing option.

Okay. Thank you for the feedback! We like the idea of the hyphen. Any suggestions for middle names?

Thanks for the help!

I would give a middle name. Yes, Anna Claire is two names, but even then it’s not a long name, so I don’t see a problem with also adding a middle name.
