Thoughts vs. On vs. Malady

I was looking at baby names for my girl who is due September, and I came across Malady. It is pronounced mal-uh-dee. I think it is very pretty. Tell me what you think. Thanks! - Sarah

Are you dumb? Malady is obviously pronounced different than Melody. Be quiet, please.

I first thought Muh-Lady, didnt get it was Malady til I read the description. Maybe change the spelling? Malody? Its pretty though.

A malady is a disease. I would suggest Melody or Melanie.

Ummm. It means a disease, sickness, or condition... so probably not

It is also spelled Melody, and yes Malady is a disease. Go with Melody

Malady has a bad meaning. But if you spelt it a bit differently: Maladie. It loses the at a glance association. You’re right it does sound pretty.

I have Therapy on my guilty pleasure list because I think it sounds wonderful, but it’s Therapy... whereas Malady/Maladie can lose it’s association and just be a pretty name.

Good Luck!

Malady made me think of M’lady. I’m sorry for all the negative comments people have given you, but Melody is a similar name (whether or not it’s pronounced the same), and you could pronounce it the same without it looking like a disease or M’lady.

Malady doesn’t simply sound like a disease, that is literally its dictionary definition.
