Elroy????? vs. It is okay? vs. Too Jetson’s?
Hello all. I am Elizabeth and my husband Zachariah and I are expecting our 2nd baby. We have and older daughter named Reagan Hollis. Zack is set on the nane Elroy for our son but I am afraid it will always get the association with The Jetson’s. I love The Jetson’s but I don’t want my child to have to go through life always getting the reference when he introduces himself. We were thinking maybe Elroy Thomas if we do choose the name. WE DO NOT LIKE LEROY! Everyone keeps suggestion this name but we do not like it. Thanks, Lissy and Zack Kirshman.

What about using it as a middle name? Or are you saving the middle name to honor someone? Personally, I really don’t like Elroy, it looks like a misspelling to me and I do think of the Jetson’s right away but I don’t know if that will even come up by the time he would go to school

The Jetsons do not come to mind when I hear the name Elroy, and I really don’t think it will be an issue at all with kids his age.

Oh everybody stop, it didn’t matter if YOU like it, they do. Frankly kids today wont ever know who the Jetsons even are unless you show them yourself so thats not an issue, only other adults would know and thats only some. I used to watch The Jetsons, I had the books, but it didnt even strike me it was from there. Elroy sounds like a normal name to me, just unheard of, which is a major bonus in my book. If you love it, use it. I think the nickname Roy is cute too. GL

Eathan is mispelt and trashy looking, id prefer Elroy to that jumble any day. No offense and maybe she doesnt want just Roy. She wants Elroy, its one sound difference, big whoop. Leave it as is. Elroy Thomas is handsome.

He likes Ian as well but we weren’t sure if it would be a good idea since our nephew is named Liam. Thomas is after my grandfather so it does mean a lot to me as the middle name. Thomas Elroy is not so bad though is it? Or Thomas Ian? Or Ian Thomas? Elroy Lucas was another name we were thinking about as well. Sorry if I am a little scattered. I am in a bit of a hurry right now.

Ian is too close to Liam imo go with Elroy Thomas or Thomas Elroy. I always say go with your gut. Which do you see your son being, which do you want to call out?

Another yay for the Elroy's. Our newest additions name is Elroy Buddy and I was just searching the net to see if there are any others out there and this thread popped up. Our Elroy is 2.5months and suits his name to a tee!!

My husband loves the name David. We are thinking David Elroy even though Elroy is #2819 or so. We have a Sylvester so Thumbs up if your trying to bring it back!
