Would It vs. Be Too vs. Weird?

My husband and I have two girls with more old fashioned names- Betsy and Mary-Kate. We are having a boy now but the names we like are not the same style at all. Out top two are Chord and Dirks. Are they too weird with Betsy and Mary-Kate or is it not a big deal?

Cord is okay, what you have listed is played on a guitar not a name given, Dirk is also okay, no need to pluralize your son

Dirks has so much teasing potential it is almost inevitable he will be teased. Dirks sounds like dork, or something else if you switch out the r for a c. How about these:

Chandler
Charles
Derrick
Darrell
Darren

Don’t name your child Dork or Dick! He will never hear the end of it in middle/high school.

Not really a fan of any of the suggestions. Boy names are so much harder!
And not sure where Dork and Dick came from but they aren’t options.

Dirks sounds like Dorks/Dicks. I would avoid that name.

Chord is different, and not my style, but I prefer it VASTLY over Dirks. Like any of these:

Your boy names are really not great! Congrats on the girl names tho. Betsey and Mary-Kate are real cute.

I don’t think it sounds anything like Dork or Dicks.
Baron is ok. I don’t love it though. We really love Dirks and Chord and we want to know if one of them sounds okay with our girls names not what you think of the names.

I think the name Dirks is going to get him teased. Besides that, I don’t think either of them goes with your girls names.

You only have to change one letter in Dirks to get either of those names. Kids who want to tease have far more imagination than that, so you are making it easier for them.

Kids can find anything to tease kids about. We are open to other ideas but can’t find anything we love as much.

I like Chord. I don’t think it matters to much if it "goes" with the girls names. I have five siblings and our names don’t necessarily go together and its has never mattered. Hope this helps ;)
