Personally I don’t like the name Markie/Marky or Markey. How about Marnie instead? It is still unique and I can imagine it on a tomboy yet it is slightly more girly and softer than Markie/Marky/Markey which just sounds like a nickname for Mark or Marcus.

By tomboy, do you mean unisex? A girl named Isabella could be a tomboy, just as a girl named Avery could be a girly girl.

As for Markie, it’s cute, but sounds too much like a nickname, in my opinion.

What about Marcella or Raquel? Markie reminds me of a mix of both!

Marky is a boys name, and it always should be. So many boys names became girls names because of the new trend "Boys names on girls". I really love the name Marky and don’t want to see it become a girls name :(

Hi, my name is Marky, and I’m a 17 year old girl:) I’m from Athens(Greece), so I don’t know how this name is regarded in your country, but here it’s not even existent. My parents "made it up" by using their names-MARy and KYriakos-. Most people here find it cute, others find it weird but not because it’s masculine, but rather because it’s unusual and not heard at all. I really like Marky Jean, or Markie Jean, it sounds lovely. Just thought you might want a point of view from someone already called that way:) If you’re still thinking about it, and if you truly love it as a name, just go for it without listening to people who might discourage you from what you are fond of. Either way, it’s your baby, right? :)

I just happened to Google "women named Markie" and this was the first to show! My father’s name is Mark and last night I had a dream that I had a daughter whose name was Marky. Its stuck with me all day. My Grandmother/ best friend (my dad’s mom) had the middle name Jean. I’m hung up on Marky Jean now and hope you went with your gut and named ur daughter this. I am due with our first baby in January,which we conceived on the exact day we lost my dad unexpectedly, his name was Mark, we aren’t finding out the sex, but if it’s a girl we are thinking Markie Bella... glad to see other bad ass little girls name Markie, cause that’s what I picture the name to be ; )
