Hello! My husband and I were finally set on the name Madison (After my great-grandpa William Madison) Kyle for our little boy and at the baby shower when we revealed the gender and name, everyone got kind of quiet. My SIL is PG, too with a girl and she is considering Haley Madison (It’s not her 1st choice, though). She is due after me, but should I consider another name? My FIL also said that he better be tough (He doesn’t know that Madison is after my great-grandpa). I was very embarrassed, but what do you think of a boy named Madison?

I’m sorry but I do find the name to be a feminine name, I like the reason behind it just not the name on a boy, have you considered Mason? It’s slightly like Madison just shortened and a boy’s name, good luck though!

I have only known girls with the name Madison. Think Kyle William or William Kyle would be better.

Honestly, I think Madison is a completely normal, acceptable boys name. See the Wikipedia entry on the history of the name, and how many men have been named Madison over the years. Do what you want. :)

I like William, but that’s what my sister is planning to do for her son’s middle name, Allen William... I do really like Mason, though.

I think Madison Kyle is a great way to honor your grandfather.
No one owns a name. They’re first come, first served, as far as I’m concerned. Having a nephew named Madison shouldn’t stop her from using Madison as a middle name if she loves it enough. It’s an honor name for you.
Do it.
You’ll probably call him Matt, Mattie, or Sonny anyways so your family will have options.

I do really love Madison and like one of the comments said, we probably won’t call him Madison. Right now, it is a tie between Mason & Madison.

My sons name is Madison and he is a happy normal little boy. Madison is not a girls name. It is unisex. And it was actually a more popular boys name up until a few decades ago.
