Adelaide, vs. wdyt?

Hi I’m Danielle and I am thrilled to be having my first child, a girl! I adore the nickname Addy, but I think Addison is too boyish, and Adelyn looks like someone forgot the M in Madelyn. I was desperate for an Ad name when I found this beautiful name. What do you think of it? Do you have any other suggestions for full names for Addy? What are some middle names for Adelaide (we would prefer 1-2 syllables because she will have a hyphenated last name)? Thanks! Danielle, Louis and little Addy

Adelaide is lovely! I like it much better than Addison and Adelyn. I also know an Adeline (said the same as Adelyn-It’s German) and I’ve always liked that better than Adelyn.

I really like Adelaide but I think Addy takes away from its beauty.

Lovely name. It has a pleasant sound and a wonderful meaning, as well as a variety of cute nicknames. A solid 9/10.

Poster 1:We tought about Adeline but we don’t think it is much nicer than Adelyn, and since they are pronounced the same it doesn’t make much of a difference.
poster 2: She would only be called Addy by family and close friends so the name Adelaide would still be used. We like Adelaide Ruby and Adelaide Claire.
