Amelia vs. Eleanor vs. ???

My husband and I are finally pregnant! Since I am a bit on the older side to be having a first child, and it took us so long to conceive this baby, we’ll probably only have one or two children total. Because of that, we want to give our children good, strong names. We like Amelia (after Amelia Earhart) and Eleanor (after Eleanor Roosevelt and Eleanor d’Aquitaine), but we would like some more options. Could you please suggest some girls names that you think are strong? Thank you so much! ~Liz

judging by your name choices I am guessing you are at least 50 which is not a good time for a baby.

My god, Mercedes! Will you just go away!

Poll poster, ignore her. She’s an established troll that just won’t go away.

I really like both Amelia and Eleanor. Those two names would make a great sib set, or first/middle name combination.

I would suggest Maya (Maya Angelou), Hattie/Harriet nn Hattie (Harriet Tubman), Susannah (Susan B. Anthony), Phoebe/Annie (Annie Oakley), and Victoria (Queen Victoria). Good luck!

Mercedes you’re an idiot. I’m 28 and I think Amelia and Eleanor are incredibly beautiful names.

Is it a fair assumption that this Mercedes is around seventeen or eighteen years old? I am in my thirties, not my fifties. I am "older" based on maternal age (advanced maternal age is considered to start at 35). So, no, I am not old, I am older (emphasis on the -er) to be having my first child.

And, Mercedes, a word of advice. Don’t pick fights. It makes you seem immature. And don’t push blame for something that you said off to someone else. If you agree with something that someone else said, you are still responsible for what you say. Miley Cyrus did not hold a gun to your head and make you say that "we all know older means 50+". Take responsibility for what you say and do.

For the name suggestions, I really like Charlotte, Diana, Felicity, Julia, Hattie, and Phoebe. Thank you!
