Draco Westenra vs. Reagan Wolfe vs. Harker Thornley
We are expecting our first next month and in celebration of October I mixed some names from my favorite classic horror novel along with my DH’s "cool" names for our son. Someone suggested Harker Reagan which we love as well. (Thank you!) We didnt get the best of reactions last night and we would like to give it another try, please tell us what you do/dont like and why. We are also open to suggestion and mixing and matching. I do not like Drake or Thorton. Thank you~ Carrie and baby boy

Reagan is only name I would even consider
I think Drake is ruined by the rapper. May I ask what is so undecent about the others? And which middle name would be best with Reagan? Harker, Thornley, Westenra, or Wolfe?

We are NYers all he will get is the connection to the rapper and thats not an image I want him to automatically have in our neighborhood. I am really against Drake. Draco can be taken out as well.
Im still lost as to which middle name for Reagan though. I quite like Reagan Wolfe or Thornley best so far.

I like Harker.
Harker Wolfe is pretty cool IMO.
I think Draco is too HP and Westenra makes me think of the singer Hayley Westenra.
Thornley is ok. Reagan is too girly IMO.

Reagan is definitely not girly! It is a boy name, not unisex, despite what some people think. Reagan Thornley would be good for your boy.
Im just as at a loss as I was last night, Im losing my love for our choices very quickly. I dont know which direction to go exactly.
Its between Reagan Wolfe and Harker Westen, although Im feeling we should start over even though I dont much want to. Thoughts?

To be honest, I like both those choices. I think you should do a poll with just those 2.

I know several female Reagan’s - thus why I think it’s girly.

I agree!^
I know one female Reagan. I don’t think it suits her. I feel sorry for her. She doesn’t like her name.
The Reagan’s I know all fit their names perfectly. I don’t know any male Reagans.

It never bothered me that Reagan was technically unisex but now that im seeing most will assume he is a girl I dont think I like it as a first name anymore.
I think its Harker Reagan or Harker Westen or a whole new outlook.

I don’t blame you for wanting to start over. I’m sorry but I can’t picture a baby to ANY of these names, they seem so obscure and empty. Horror novels aren’t much of an inspiration of life. Maybe try finding a name from the Bible that will bring love & strength to your heart....just as a baby does when it comes into your life.

Yikes. Draco I dislike because it’s just really unattractive in my opinion. Reagan has become pretty popular for girls (although I can’t understand why), and Harker as in Hark the Harold Angels Sing? Hark for short.
I’m all for being creative, but I’d be careful. You don’t want your son to have to stick up for his name his entire life.

Does your sweet new baby really make you think of horror movies and Hallowe’en monsters? Come on. I would drop that association. NO ONE wants to be named after a monster.

Halloween is a big holiday for my family and we are all horror buffs so we still think it is cute, we will go back to the drawing board though. Most regular or top names give that "empty" impression to us so we still want to aim for the more unusual. We would love some help!

I think people are trying to help you, there’s not much of a connection one can make with "horror themed" names and giving a precious new baby a name. Just beacause the baby is due in October doesn’t mean you have to go that route. I grew up celebrating Halloween too, until discovered it’s REAL, google it, you’ll see. And it’s not fun what really happens to children and women on this ancient satanic holiday. Please learn for yourself...it doesn’t hurt to check it out.

Ummm, most names have a horror connection.....Charles, Michael, Reagan, Damian, Amity, Caroline, Dahlia, Lucy, Mina, Blaire, Lilith, Shelley, the list goes on and none are posessed or "satanic" lol in fact its your normal "Emily Rose" thats gets her soul stolen in the end. She wants to go the Halloween route, its special to them, then so be it. Some people find beauty in darker things and they create masterpierces, just saying.
