Honest vs. Feedback vs. Please
Hi everyone. We are expecting our first daughter soon and could use your honest opinions. We are seriously considering naming her Persephone Adele Martineau (last name is Martineau) with the nn Persie but are unsure if it is too "out there". We love it but don’t want her to be teased. To be completely honest I do not like the name Persephone. I can just see the potential for teasing. When ever I hear it I think Purse Phone. Sorry! What about Penelope?

I think it’s too close to sounding like pu**y
My co-worker has a nine year old named Persephone, and her father likes to call her percy. I think it is cute. Good luck.

This is gonna sound horrible but some kids can’t say their "R"s and that could be an embarrassing nickname. I would go with Penelope and call her Penny.

I like Persephone however I do think it may be a bit much with your last name. I’m also not a fan of Persie (I think Effie could be cute though)

I’m on team Penelope Adele! That’s beautiful! I think she will be teased if she’s named Persephone. I think its a cute idea but kids are so mean these days!

I love Persephone - my only personal fear is that it sounds a tad pretentious maybe? Doesn’t change the fact that I adore it.
