Adelina vs. Adela vs. Adelia

Which would you choose? Also, I hate the overused nickname Addie... do you think Adelina would automatically be called Addie? That’s my main concern with that choice. How would you say Adelia? A-DELL-ee-ah or ADD-uh-lee-ah?

I think Adelina would be called Lina before Addie.
I think Adelia looks more like Add-uh-lee-ah.
Also I don’t like Adela very much.
Adelina is the best one!

I like Adelina. I don’t think she’ll necessarily be called Addie. If you want a short form, Lina could also work. I’d say Adelia as ah-DEE-lee-ah. For ah-DELL-ee-ah, I’d spell it Adellia.

I think if you want a different nickname, then you could offer that. People will default to ADdie otherwise. (But if you choose one, people will usually follow that).

I don’t like Adela - it seems abrupt.

I would pronounce Adelia - A-DAY-lia

Adelyn is much too trendy for me... I like this because they are old fashioned.

My favorite is Adelina, but I prefer Adeline/Adeleine. I think either would be less likely to be shortened. Adelina is my favorite of these choices though!

Here in my "neck of the woods" we would pronounce Adelia as uh deeeee lya
