Spelling for vs. Hagan?

I love the irish name Hagan (HAY-gan) but I worry about people thinking it’s hag-an (as in "old hag"), so I’m looking for alternate spelling suggestions, such as Haegan, Haygan, Haegen, Haygen, etc.) Please say which is the best one you can think of! Thanks!

I’m sorry to disappoint you but Hagan is not an Irish first name. It is an Irish last name. Please don’t use a surname for your baby. There are plenty of beautiful Irish first names to choose from here: http://www.behindthename.com/names/usage/irish

I honestly don’t know if this is for a boy or a girl which should be an indicator that you shouldn’t use it. That and it has the word "hag" in it. The spelling alone reminds me of haggis.

I don’t mind the name....I’d spell it Haegen. The only downside of the change in spelling is that it kind of makes me think of Haagen, like Haagen Dazs! If it’s any help, when I first read Hagan, I thought Hay-gan, not Hag-en. So you might be fine with the original spelling!
