Aveline vs. Aveleen
Helli, I have a little problem. I am half british and half french and my husband is british. I fell in love with the name Aveleen, but spelled Aveline, the problem is, will people pronounce it correctly (like Aveleen) or Ave-leye-ne ?

I would pronounce it Ave-line if spelled like Aveline. For Ave-leen got with your other spelling or Avelene.

I am not understanding how to say Ave-leye-ne though I would pronounce both Aveleen and Aveline Ave-lean because Ave-line sounds strange.

Aveline is pretty and it’s authentic. Aveleen is neither. I think the name is worth a little trouble, don’t you? All you have to do is correct people once and they usually get the hang of it. I don’t see a big issue regarding Aveline’s pronunciation.

I would say Ava-leen (Aveleen) and Ava-line (Aveline) thougt I am probably wrong. I think saying them Ave-leen and Ave-line sounds odd and not like real names. But that’s just me.

I have no idea how to pronounce Aveleen. Could you clarify please. It looks like a really pretty name though. I think Aveleen looks better too.

If you are in the US, I suspect a lot of people will pronounce it like Ave-lyn. You get that a lot with Caroline being mispronounced like Carolyn. I think this will probably be the same.
