Giving baby girl vs. a new name

My baby girl was born two days ago and I named her Lyssa (not on her birth certificate, but we have been calling her it). I picked it out in a spur of the moment. Now, I don’t think it is the name for her. Not sure why, but I don’t feel it’s right. I have one name in mind, but I know people won’t like it. Baby girl has platinum blonde hair and eyes that I’m pretty sure will stay blue. I like kind of trendy and different names. Any ideas? -Olivia

Hello Olivia!
I completely agree you should trust your gut, and give your child a name you, as a mom, feel it’s the right choice.
Maybe, since you picked Lyssa, you could give this name a twist: My niece’s name is Luciana, and my sister’s is Luisa. Maybe you would like one of the two?
Best of luck! :)

What name do you have in mind. You never know. People may like even when you think they won’t. I made a poll about naming my son Hakai thinking everyone would say no and suggest things like Malachi but most of my comments said they loved it and how fresh and new it was. I would really like to hear what kind of name you like now and it would help us suggest similar ones.

I would like to know the name as well... if it fits her its might be what she "is" so to speak

The name I am thinking of is Taigley. I also like Bryndie though!

Would you say that Tay-glee or Ty-glee? I like both though Ty-glee would be my favorite of the two. I do not like Bryndie though.

What about Maci or Alyssa? Or Felicity nn Lyssa?

Please don’t use Taigley. Give her a real, normal name that will be able to go with her when she grows up and needs to get a job.

Alyssa would be good, and you could swap her nickname to Allie if you think it suits her more.
