Thoughts on the name Winodee vs. Like it vs. Hate it

My pharmacists name is Winodee(Win-oh-dee) and me and my husband really like it for our little girl who is due soon. I asked her if she liked her name and she said that she really did and she’s never had a problem with it. What do you all think? Is it usable? Does it sound silly? etc...Thanks! Mary and Tyler

It seriously sounds made up and like someone can’t say wendy.

No, I wouldn’t do it. What about Winifred Cassidy and nickname her Winodee or some name like that.

Elodie is similar and 100 times nicer

If you need a unique looking name that begins with a "w"...I suggest Wynter. But NOT Winodee.

What is the origin of Winodee. I must admit, I was thinking it sounds made up too. But I just looked it up to check first. I did find a couple of roads called Winodee Road. But that is literally all I could find. So it’s clearly not entirely made up, but I can’t figure out exactly what it is. That might make a difference for me.

Id use it, if the woman who is actually named Winodee loves it and says there isnt a problem then there isnt. :) I like it a lot actually, it sounds vintage but with a modern twist. Its sweet and feminine while still being strong and spunky. I cant think of any reason not to use it. Its better than the same tired names I here over and over. In my humble opinion I think its usable, obviously it ages well, and indeed a rare jewel amongst other choices. GL! Use what you love, that was the best advice ever given to me on here. Congrats!

I love it! It is like an equal balance of everything. I’d use it, you seem to really love it. It is easy to pronounce and spell. There shouldn’t be any issues with it.

I know a woman named Winodie, I happen to like her name. I can’t decide which spelling is best but I do love the sound. I like it a lot more than Winter, Kennady, and Elodie. Nicknames for Winodee can be Winn, Winnie, Wendy, Windy, Dee, Deedee, Indi, and Dizzy. All very cute.
